Error#440

See the sound, hear the movement

Error#440 is a conference-show that aims to explore the connection between gesture and sound.

“But is it the sound that is visible or the movement that is noisy?”

"No, we can't see the sound."

“But yes, we see it: each of our gestures emits a sound.”

“But then is the gesture noisy?”

“…”

“mmm… good question…”

Through a series of paintings, images, words, materials, objects and sound experiments, a journey into the world of audio is undertaken. On stage two characters, a speaker and his assistant with their humanity, their complicity, their fragility and their madness.

From time to time they transform into musicians, sound engineers, problem solvers, colleagues and explorers of the world of sound. On this journey, analog connections and digital synthesizers meet, microphones, swings, ping pong paddles, cables, cables, cables... so many cables.

Invented musical instruments allow us to create bizarre concerts; Object manipulations allow us to explore the concept of synesthesia: a rather unusual perceptual process consisting of spontaneous and uncontrolled interaction and overlapping of multiple senses.

The relationship with error, during the research phase or during the realization of an experiment, is always present. Error allows us to stop and evaluate, to look at reality from another angle. This gives us a second chance to make mistakes again. And then again...
